Leaving the big institutions, AI in daily life, and who backs you when you do.
I’m Sheelam Chadha.
I’m an investor, a commercial real-estate executive and relentlessly curious about technology, business and why supposedly intelligent systems so often make absolutely no sense.
I’ve spent my career buying and selling very large buildings. Hooray. And some small ones. Not to discriminate.
I also run Dry Capital, teach private equity and raise two small children — which is substantially less predictable than any investment market.
And, in case you haven’t realised, I’m a woman.
But Load Bearing is not a real-estate podcast. The world is not just about bricks. It’s about money, power, technology, ambition and the strange systems holding everything together.
I speak to investors, entrepreneurs, technologists and other interesting people about what they’re building, what is going wrong, and what they actually think when nobody has given them an approved corporate answer.
There will be serious ideas, inappropriate levels of honesty and, occasionally, useful information.
Welcome to Load Bearing.
Full episodes on video and audio. Shorts wherever you scroll.
Notes from the recordings, the questions guests refused to answer, and the occasional expensive mistake of her own. Weekly when the show is running. Never more than that.

If you have done something in money, business or property that nobody has asked you about on the record, that is the conversation we want. Guests are people with a story, not a job title.
